Born in raised in Kansas City, Dave West began hunting with his father and grandfather at a very young age. He would chase anything that flew, swam or ran. He began waterfowling in northwest Missouri at a duck club near Swan Lake and Fountain Grove Refuges, and after his first duck and goose he was hooked.
After high school and one year of college, he relocated to Stuttgart, Arkansas to work for RNT Calls, where he worked as the assistant shipping manager and part of call finishing. Currently he is a student and works landscape. But when he is not in class or working, he is either in the field or on the water every chance he gets.
