Well, contrary to popular belief, receiving a gift on Valentine’s Day is not the number one reason that females enjoy celebrating the holiday. In fact, most women that I have spoken with believe that it is simply a “Hallmark Holiday,” believe it or not. From my perspective, the reason to celebrate Valentine’s Day is to remind you and your better half why you appreciate each other and the relationship. I believe that V-Day presents a great opportunity, or excuse, to get away from the stresses of the everyday life and have a date night, just the two of you. So call the babysitter, turn off the phones and enjoy some romantic time!
Now just because I mentioned that most women and I believe that it is just a “Hallmark Holiday” or whatever you may call it, this does not in any way mean that the ladies do not enjoy receiving gifts. If you, the guy, want to make the evening a little extra special – you know, put the icing on the cake – a gift is definitely the way to go. This gift can be small or big, inexpensive or expensive; my only recommendation is that it comes from the heart. The perfect gift forthat could come from my significant other on this holiday is something that we both could enjoy.
Here are some ideas, as an outdoorswoman, that would make great Valentine’s Day gifts perfect for both individuals to enjoy.

I absolutely love to go on “hunting expeditions,” as I like to call them. My favorite outdoor sport is waterfowl hunting. If your lady loves the outdoors and is always up for some adventure in her life, set up an outdoor or hunting expedition where you can spend some time together teaching her something you love to do in the great outdoors. I think that this is a great way to bond and learn a little more about each other. There are so many different outdoors trips that a couple could go on. A few that I have been on in the past have been to the World’s Duck Calling Competition, various hunting outings, and coming up in the future I am going on my first turkey hunt – I can’t wait!
So men, good luck with this “Hallmark Holiday.” Valentine’s Day is only about 2 weeks away. I hope that you and your lady can find that special something that you can both enjoy to make the holiday a memorable one!

When it comes to Valentine’s Day, I don’t normally see this as a traditional holiday such as Christmas or Thanksgiving. To me, it’s a holiday dedicated to showing that special someone just how much he or she means to you.
That’s the sappy part of the holiday.
Now that’s out of the way, and it’s time for the good stuff. For the outdoorsman, Valentine’s Day is a great way to have some “opportunities” you might not have throughout the rest of the year.
If you and your significant other like to exchange gifts on Valentine’s Day, then check out these gifts you could ask for this Valentine’s Day.
1. Camouflage Lingerie
I mean what guy wouldn’t like to see his wife or girlfriend in camouflage lingerie? It’s a great way to kick off Valentine’s Day the right way. Now, she may see this as a gift for you, but you must convince her that you did this from the heart. I’m not saying to be derogatory by any means, but say for example, my girlfriend wasn’t automatically excited about camouflage lingerie. But I think with some gentle convincing that I was thinking about her the entire time, she’ll be on board.
2. A New Gun or Bow
This can get a little pricey. But hey, remind your girl about the times you bought expensive jewelry or took her out to an expensive dinner. You could even take a page out of Jeff Foxworthy’s book and create a chart showing how much meat you contribute to the household through hunting, and that a new bow or gun could definitely improve the quality and quantity of that contribution in the long term.
3. New Hunting or Fishing Gear
Make sure you explain the fact that this is your passion, and you always have to have the best gear. It’s the time-trusted argument of “You always go shopping, so why can’t I go shopping?”
