You’ve seen the traditional use of CollegiateCamo decals – on cars, trucks and boats. Then, we told you about some unique places to put CollegiateCamo decals, such as golf cart decals and even the troops have brandished the decals on their military vehicles overseas! Another great idea is to put the decals on your bow case! Very cool idea. Thanks for sharing, Matt!

Hello, CollegiateCamo fans! We have had a great couple of months and are having a blast riding the wave of excitement that has landed at our doorsteps!

For starters, we were featured on the Outdoor Channel’s What the Stuff Outdoor Adventure show. The show aired on Tuesday, March 16, and we couldn’t be more excited. You can view the video on our YouTube channel here: CollegiateCamo on Outdoor Channel’s What the Stuff.

CollegiateCamo is also grateful to the Sportsman Channel for selecting us as a featured product in their Gear Gallery!

We have also submitted a press release to Shooting Sports Retailer magazine. If you are a retailer, keep your eyes open for how to receive 1 of 3 CollegiateCamo prizes to help introduce ourselves to the magazine’s readers. Everyone in the business knows that Shooting Sports Retailer is the place to be. Currently, the magazine is going to 16,000 retailers! We really hope to make a splash there.

We are working very hard to combine the love of outdoors and the passion for your team on a bigger scale. We are very happy and do appreciative of all the media attention we have received, and we are equally grateful for the supporters of college sports and the great outdoors that have purchased our products. We wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you.

Iowa Deer Classic 2010 Recap!

March 9, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

CollegiateCamo just returned from a fantastic weekend in Des Moines, Iowa where we attended the Iowa Deer Classic show. Our booth was well-attended by all collegiate outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen, and it was a real pleasure to meet all of you!

It was a struggle but we managed to calm the rivalry at our booth between the Iowa Hawkeyes fans and Iowa State Cyclones fans. We were very careful not to let any of the merchandise intermingle. Who knows – it could have started a fire, or something worse!

And-we quickly learned not to assume what loyalty our customers have – the scowls and verbal beating that we took if we assumed wrong was stifling! So we learned to ask the question “What is your favorite school?” on a regular basis, haha!

We heard comments like, “You can’t tell me there’s any other school in Iowa other than the Iowa,” or perhaps, “We don’t recognize that school over there with the big yellow bird!”

It was especially fun to see how fired up Iowa State University (IA State) fans were about their big win Saturday night over #5-ranked Kansas State Wildcats.

So who won out in the ultimate battle to show their team pride along with a healthy dose of camouflage? It was a tie! The sales were about even for both schools.

The Northern IA fans were thrilled to see that we had their merchandise.  They say it has been extremely hard to find Northern Iowa Panthers stuff! (Not anymore thanks to CollegiateCamo.) And their panther looks so good on our caps and decals. Congrats to NIA for clinching their title game – Missouri Valley Tournament Championship over Wichita State!

Then of course we had the fan of the Bradley University Braves that scoffed at the public institutions, but was both shocked and excited to visit our website to find buy the Bradley University camo decals and apparel.Surprisingly, the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers came in as the 4th biggest seller at the Iowa Deer Classic! Those guys really love their “Big Red.” Camo combined with the big “N” – just gotta have it!

People really came out of the woodworks for the Iowa Deer Classic show. We sold Mizzou Tigers stuff, Pittsburg State Gorilla stuff, Arkansas Razorbacks, Kansas State Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks stuff too. One of our customers, the parents of a who son plays on the Minnesota Mankato baseball team, was excited to send some of our cool Mankato stuff his way! Hope he loves it – send him our well wishes for this baseball season! (Browse CollegiateCamo Schools to find your favorite college sports team in camo.)

One of the best kept secrets about the Iowa Deer Classic shows is one of the most amazing drives just south out of Des Moines headed toward Kansas City (witnessed it many times).  The herds of deer (yes, herds) on both sides of I-35 are unbelievable!  It’s truly like driving in a national park. And the beauty goes on for miles. We highly recommend it.

Thanks again, Iowans, for giving us such a great experience from the Iowa Deer Classic show to the local restaurants, the local people and the beautiful drive home with a glimpse of the wilderness that keeps us in business. It was a great experience.

Turn Your Deer Trophy into a Decal

February 4, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Trophy Buck Antlers Made Into a Truck Decal with Custom TextWhen you shoot your deer trophy or buck trophy, you snap tons of photos trying to immortalize your success. Now there is a brand new way to show off your deer hunting trophy – a vehicle decal. CollegiateCamo recently launched a new project called “Decal Your Trophy” to do just that. (Check out this decal our webmaster from WebDog Services has to the right!)

Decal Your Trophy is an amazing project!  We have gotten so many request to make hunters their very own antlers into decals.  We expect that this will be a lot of fun as we see the pics rolling in of huge trophy deer and trophy elk throughout the country. Hunting season may be only for a few weeks of the year, but now hunters can enjoy their trophy antlers all year long.

Did you know that the white tail deer antlers in the CollegiateCamo deer design are from a real buck? Not too big, not too small, just right to fit the college logo snugly inside!  We expect that we’ll have even more great requests for specialized and custom decal work to Decal Your Trophy as the word gets out. (It makes a great gift, too!)

Let the fun begin!

CollegiateCamo at Shot Show 2010 in Las Vegas!

January 14, 2010 by · 1 Comment

Our CollegiateCamo crew leaves Sunday for SHOT Show and we are really excited to see all of the new and exciting stuff in the world of hunting, shooting and the outdoors. This year SHOT Show is at the Sands Exhibition Center in Las Vegas from January 19 to 22.

It’s an especially fun year for CollegiateCamo since we are actually exhibiting this year in Booth #353! Yes! The first time we will represent the company to our friends in the retail business.  SHOT Show is an amazing trade show that is only open to people of the trade.  I’m sure we’ll see some of our friends who own stores that love our college camo decals and college camo apparel.

I’ve never seen so many miles of booths – it’s like a hunter’s dreamland for equipment, firearms, archery, outdoor apparel and accessories. I’ve heard that there are more than 18 miles of booths and all the outdoors goods and services are amazing! You have never seen so many outdoorsmen items in one place. SHOT Show attracts folks from all 50 states every year. It’s worth noting that SHOT show is sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. (Couldn’t do it without them.)

So we will drag six CollegiateCamo staff out to Vegas and we plan on having a blast! On Wednesday we will do a very exciting TV shoot for the Outdoors Channel.  We’ll be featured in a segment in February that shows new and exciting items available as seen at SHOT Show. So, we’re trying to “buff it up” in time to look great for the camera!

And aside from all the excitement at SHOT Show, did we mention parties galore? Yes, we’ve been invited to the Sportsman Channel shindig and we are ready to P-A-R-T-Y! They are great friends, especially our buddy Matt Blouin!

Jeanie and Marty (CollegiateCamo founder) will be seeing Ted Nugent and Love Pump in Vegas. We’ve even got feelers out to get in to Ted Nugent’s party, but that’s a tough one to crack. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Last, but certainly not least, our friend Jody Niccum – 2007 World Duck Calling Champion – will be with us on this trip. He will have autographed photos at our booth of him and his huge trophy. Come see us at SHOT Show in Booth #353 and let the fun begin!
