Thanksgiving View from Our Outdoorsmen & Women

November 23, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

First of all, I am thankful for God.  I’m thankful for all that He has given me.  I am thankful for the wonderful family that he has given me which taught me many important things in life especially to value the outdoors and cherish all of the little things in life.  I am thankful for my beautiful wife who shares the love of the outdoors and who enjoys some of the same passions in life with me.  Lastly, I am thankful for the land that we live in and the men and women who protect it.  If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be able to live in this great country that God has created.  Happy Thanksgiving!

~ Jimmy Moslak

I am thankful for my family, my friends and the men and women who fight for my rights everyday! So often we take all these things for granted only to wake up and have nothing! I love the thought of my family being there to welcome me at any given time and my friends being there the same! The armed forces for whole heartedly and fearlessly fighting any and all who oppose my freedom! For the outdoor family that has welcomed me by either having me as a prostaffer or have so graciously asked to sponsor me! I support thanksgiving by saying Thank You to all of you!!! Without each other we have nothing!! Most of all I’m thankful to the Good LORD above for giving me breathe, life and everyone I’ve ever met!! YOU ALL are THANKSGIVING!!!!!!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of you and your lives!!!

~ GATORMAN

What I am thankful for is my family, friends and those who are serving to protect our rights as outdoorsman.  Thank you to each and every one and I wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

~ Matt Aarstad

I love Thanksgiving!  It’s a time for me to reflect on every way I have been blessed.  I am thankful for my 2 wonderful and healthy sons. Although they are young, they still have a strong desire to be outdoors and they enjoy learning about hunting, fishing, and sports.  I am thankful for my wife who allows me to enjoy the outdoors and is still there when I return from hunting or fishing trip! I am also very thankful for my father-in-law.  Six years ago he was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer and he was given a life expectancy of up to 6 months.  Over the 6 years he has gotten to know his grand kids and taught me a thing or two about running the farm.  The cancer is finally catching up to him and his days are numbered but I am so thankful for the “extra” 6 years he got to be with us.  Finally, I am thankful that I have the opportunity to hunt and fish and for the time I get to spend outdoors with family and friends.

~Jeremy Rogers

Too often people relate happiness or wealth to personal possessions and I’m guilty of it also. I am certainly thankful for my beautiful collection of guns and bows as well as all my hunting gear and even my Chevy Silverado. However what I am truly thankful for cant be measured with money. I am blessed to have the best father and sister I could ever ask for. I am thankful for them more than anything as well as my friends. I am also thankful for the days I spend in the woods and water. There is nothing like watching the world come alive as deer wander through the timber and ducks cup their wings into my spread. Finally I am thankful that I live in the greatest country in the world where I can enjoy all these simple things that make my life what it is. God Bless America. Happy Holidays

~ Ryan Mason

I would like to use this time to count all my blessings, my loved ones are counted twice. J I’m thankful for having such a loving and supportive family. By family I mean my God given and those that I chose (aka my dear friends). WE are quite the herd! We have our health and each other, both intangible things that cannot be labeled with a price tag. I’m blessed to have work and more especially to do what I love in an industry that I truly believe in. I love everyone I get to work with! I’m blessed to have such an incredible ProStaff Team whom offers support, encouragement and wisdom. I am thankful for our troops, law enforcement and firefighters and this beautiful country that I choose to reside in. I’m blessed to be a part of a wonderful community. I’m blessed with a cheerful home filled with life and prosperity of knowledge. Looking from the outside in, I’m one lucky girl to have so many wonderful things in my life and for that I am very grateful. Wishing you a lovely and blessed holiday season from my home to yours! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Looking to the Winners of this Weeks BIG Game

October 6, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

CollegiateCamo loves a good football game and there are several coming up this weekend.

Our “kick off” decal promotion for the winners of last week’s games has been a big success!

This decision isn’t like the games the big boys pick…it’s not a “Game Day” event.

But still, it’s a tough decision to choose just one game as our big game of the week .  However, this weeks choice is clear. It has to be an inter office choice–Kansas State verses Mizzou.

CollegiateCamo has many connections on both sides; makes for an office divided for sure!

Which team will come out to be the big winner?

The local sports writers have it a “neck in neck” game.  Mizzou had last week off so will that give them the needed rest for their injured weary team to play to victory or will  K State continue the momentum from their good fortune streak of wins this season and have the bragging rights?

Could Mizzou be distracted about moving to another conference?

Could K State have the advantage playing at home?

Well, whatever the outcome there will be lots of “jabs taken” at the office next week.

Our BIG promotion for the BIG Game this week is that the Winners team FANS will receive 20% off their entire decal order. (Discount Code posted after the game)

 Good luck to all…..

Fishing With Family and Friends in Cape Canaveral

Summer times almost gone! Woohooo!  Bring on Old Man Winter because the only thing I will miss is fishing, but I’m sure my mind will be too busy focusing on big game animals across the states! Well, I won’t really be missing out on fishing all that much because I live in the south and Old Man Winter rests here before and after tormenting the northern states but as long as he cools us off I’m good with that!

Fishing down here is always good! Too many species to target to not have good fishing! This summer I did a lot of fishing with my family, and friends! I mainly fished salt water and have realized what an addiction it is, because there is also the one fact of too many species to not commit to it! Where ya say was I fishing? The main salt water destination I chose was around Cape Canaveral Fl., in the Indian River and my targeted fish was…yep you figured right…Gator Trout!

I was lucky enough to be guided by my Uncle Travis who put me on more fish than we could keep! Nearly every time we went out, which was every Thursday afternoon, we limited out! It was a blast that will get and keep you addicted!! We also caught some red fish, ladyfish, salt water cats and saw a wide variety of other animals but the best treat was a Manatee! Man that’s one funky looking water beast!! Very cool to watch though! This type of fishing is one of the easiest there is; as a matter of fact it’s so easy even a caveman can do it! Please note this was not taken from the popular insurance commercial!! HAHA seriously though if you wanna take a kid fishing for the first time, you gotta take ‘em gator trout fishing! nMy youngest son went a few times and unfortunately I don’t have the pics of him with his catch but trust me when I say my 10 year old out fished me!!! Ya know I love the outdoors but when I get to spend it with my family that’s what makes the memories last! Good fishing and good Hunting and always remember to take a kid and always stress and teach safety!

God Bless… Gatorman OUT!

The Strength of Bonds with Hunting Buddies

September 5, 2011 by · 1 Comment

As I arrived to my final destination in the Lone Star State in efforts to see my best friend and pursue some hogs I realized something. There is nothing like the bond with your hunting buddy. While I use the term hunting buddy loosely, it covers a great array of people including family, friends, peers, coworkers and even significant others. From a different point of view, when around people that you are not familiar with the interest in filling tags and harvesting animals can be either controversial or a great conversation starter. Those who hunt naturally gravitate towards each other because there is a certain comfort in knowing there’s a common interest between you and the stranger.

Lifelong Hunting BuddiesLoading up the pickup and driving to her family’s ranch in pursuit of feral hogs we took the opportunity to catch up on everything since we last saw each other and reminisced our past. Throughout the cackling session we also dug a little deeper and discussed politics, lessons learned and offered advice to one another. While we don’t always agree with each other, we respect each other enough to listen to the opposing side. We’ve always had a close friendship, but after years of shooting, hunting and other assorted adventures we realized that it has brought us closer and built a unique bond.

As we settled into our hunting spot waiting for signs of movement from the hogs, the time passed rather quickly. Memories flashed back to our first hunt with daddy, to our current endeavor and every hunting and fishing trip in between. These are moments that will never be forgotten. This all took place in spurts between stretches of silence, listening and waiting for the critters to show. By the end of my hunting trip with her I realized something else. Through the test of miles, silence, discussions, heat and everything else, our bond ensures that I have a lifetime hunting buddy and I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

Getting Ready for the Upcoming Hunting Season

One of the greatest experiences I had this summer was in August when I went to Langham Outdoors in Illinois to hang tree stands.

It might not sound like a ton of fun, but the TV show I’m on, Tree Stand Buddy’s Game On, will be going there during the rut in November to hunt for a week. I won’t be hunting, but I’ll be behind the camera waiting on that big ole buck to walk his road to glory. We hung nine sets, so there is a definite possibility someone will be killing a nice buck.

The guys went to Langham last year and only one person killed. This year, I know we will make it happen. As for myself this fall, I’ll be trying to fill my Ohio buck tag along with filming the rest of the guys from Team OI.

Check us out on the Pursuit Channel Sundays and Wednesdays at 5 p.m. and Tuesdays at 6 a.m.

Happy Hunting!
